It's Kinda Eclectic!

Hi everyone,

Happy World Card Making Day for yesterday. I didn't get around to blogging yesterday, but I did manage to spend about an hour in my craft room and ended up making another Christmas card, but I will save that one for later. Instead I will share with you some cards I whipped up this morning. DD10 has yet another Birthday Party to go to today so I thought would keep adding to my stock of cards ready to go. This time I pulled out Kinda Eclectic. Now I love this stamp set, but sadly don't really know what to do with it. All my inspiration has come from the web and if I have CASED one of your cards please let me know. I do like to give credit where credit is due.

The first card is a CASE of one from Connie Babbert  (just click on her name and it will take you to her card).

I loved the colours that Connie used and decided I would have to use them too. Island Indigo, Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist really work well together.

The next card I made is the one that DD10 decided to use today.

I think she just likes Melon Mambo. I have also used Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight. Please excuse the retired ribbon.

This is the last of the cards.
Once again I have used Marina Mist, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.

See below for the extra items used.

Cheerful Christmas meets The Paper Players Challenge

Hi everyone,

I thought today I would have a go at one of the many challenge blogs that I have subscribed to, yet never get around to doing.

The Paper Players is a great challenge blog and they change it up weekly. Sometimes it is a sketch or a colour challenge. I really recommend you checking them out if you haven't done so. Just click on their name at the beginning of this paragraph and you will go straight there.

This week it is a sketch challenge. Below is the sketch.

This is what I came up with.

I used Cheerful Christmas and Endless Wishes for the sentiment. I'm sorry about the colour but obviously the lighting wasn't that great when I took the photo. The colours I have used are Real Red, Garden Green and Soft Sky.

I made another card the same, but used Island Indigo, Smokey Slate and Soft Sky. The colours look particularly bad. The sentiment is from Good Greetings, which you can get for free if you have a qualifying order.

Below is an image of the items used.

Age Awareness

Hi everyone,

Don't freak out! Yes two posts in two days! Don't get used to it though! I have to say I have been enjoying spending some time crafting because I can. Whilst I do enjoy making the hundreds of mothers day and fathers day cards that I do for school, by the time I finish them I am completely over it all.

The set that I used today is one that I just had to have, but then I didn't really know what to do with it. It has all these cute sayings such as "I remembered your birthday" and "thanks Facebook!", so this set has a lot of potential. I just stuck to a basic layout for all four cards, so it could be used quite easily for a Stamp a Stack.

I stuck with the colours from the Moonlight DSP paper stack - which is such a bargain at just $11.95 for 48 sheets of 11.4cm X 16.5cm DSP. The colours are Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand, Basic Grey and Whisper White.

Whilst I had the stamp set out I thought I would have a play with just girly colours and this is what I came up with.

As Age Awareness is a photopolymer set, it was wonderful not having to worry about using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure that  my images were stamped correctly. Colours used are Coastal Cabana, Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush and Melon Mambo. The little pearls have been coloured in using Coastal Cabana Blendabilities.

Below is a list of items used, which are all available from my On Line store which is open 24 hours. Just click on the button in the top right hand corner to go directly to my shop.

Blended Bloom

Hi everyone,

I have finally plucked up the courage to have a play with the Stampin' Blendabilities. Oh my goodness they are a lot of fun! As a kid I loved colouring in using texta's, pencils and the like, but I was never confident with blending. I'm still not, but I'm glad I finally had a go with the Blendabilities.

Naturally I had to use Blended Bloom which is just perfect to use with the Blendabilities. I started off making a birthday card for one of DD10 many friends who are having birthdays in the coming couple of months.

I also made a tag to go on the present bag. This one is Rich Razzleberry.

Then I had to go and have a play with the other colours that I have purchased and as I am always short of birthday cards I decided to make a few more.

The remaining colours are Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana and Pumpkin Pie. I am thinking that I will have to order the remaining colours.

Thanks for looking.

Such a long time since posting

I can't believe I haven't posted since the 1st December last year.

I have been somewhat busy doing other things, but never fear I still love my papercraft and I am still very much in love with Stampin' Up!. I just haven't had a lot of time to devote to keeping my blog up to date.

As far as paper crafting is concerned I have mainly been working on the 800 or so Mothers Day cards (that were for May), and the 800 Fathers Day cards required for September. I am happy to say I am half way through the Fathers Day cards and I know what I want to do for the next 400. I decided this year to stick to 8 designs and make 100 of each. For those of you who mass produce understand how tedious this can be - but also it can be relatively relaxing once you have done all the stamping and cutting. You do get into a zone.

I haven't really got anything new to show you in the way of card designs. I am sad to say that whilst I have purchased some new product from the new catalogue I haven't actually used it. I hope to rectify that once the kids go back to school next week. Any way, here is a set of cards I made earlier this year. Nothing exciting but effective using emboss resist.

Hope to be back much more frequently. I am also looking at trying to resume some classes - especially my Christmas Stamp A Stacks so fingers crossed.

Thanks for looking
