Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 10

Hi everyone,

Day 10 was a very busy day for me. Two assemblies at school for the girls so that took up most of my day. Both girls got certificates. DD8 certificate says " For displaying a positive attitude in all aspects of her school life". DD6 certificate says "For an excellent effort in all classroom activities and producing artworks with creative flair". Maybe we have a little artist or even a demonstrator in our midst!!!

Here is day 10's cards. Once again sorry they are late. This time I have used "Chock full of Cheer", along with a sliver of "Be of Good Cheer" DSP and Champagne Glimmer Paper.

Once again rather simple but effective I think.

Thanks for looking.

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 9

Hi everyone,

Back again with two posts in one day as I can't seem to manage my time effectively.

Day 9 brings some more cards. This time using Ornament Keepsakes.

Firstly I stamped the ornament image onto the card front. I then used the matching paper piercing kit to outline the ornament. I then stamped the image again onto a scrap piece of paper and rather than using the matching framelit's I hand cut the ornament image and then popped it over the top of the original image using dimensionals. The sentiment is from Curly Cute.

Thanks for looking.

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 8

Hi everyone,

Yesterday just fell in a puddle around me and my sister, whom I haven't seen for nearly a year came to stay - so please forgive me yet again.

Day 8 offering is another set of cards using Snow Swirled. This time I have used Baja Breeze and Sahara Sand. If you look closely enough you will see that I heat embossed the snowflakes on the "flag" in Iridescent Ice.

Thanks for looking.

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 7

Hi everyone,

Back on track with a second post today. For Day 7 I have another card for you. This time using Snowflake Soiree. I decided to use very non traditional colours for this card and have used Primrose Petals, Sahara Sand and Pink Pirouette.

Got to love the Triple Layer Stamping technique to add a bit more to your cards.

Thanks for looking.

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 6

Hi everyone,

Oops I did it again!!! Sorry about that. It wasn't until I woke up at about 3am this morning that I forgot I hadn't posted again. Will try a bit harder I promise.

For day 6 I have my Gingerbread House that I made for the Sydney Heartfelt Event. I was asked if I would man the heat tool table for a session and I made several items to display. This is by far my favorite item that I made.

The door opens wide enough so you can pop a battery operated tea light inside so it shines through the velum windows.

Thanks for looking.

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 5

Hi everyone,

Yay! I am back as promised with today's actual post. This year I decided that I would get a lot more involved with my DD's school. The school has a Parents Group which is a sub-committee of the P&C. Well I decided I would volunteer to be the convenor. I am so very glad that I did - however the Parents Group is responsible for organising and doing a lot of things for the kids. Every year the Parents Group puts on a Pantomime for the K-2 kids. As convenor it fell to me to organise it. Luckily I don't need to worry about the script as we have three and rotate them, so no child gets to the see the same one. We also organise a gift that Santa gives the children at the end of the Panto. This year I decided I would make rosettes as ornaments. Well I got through 150 of them and decided there was no way I was going to be able to finish the next 150 so I put them aside. This is what I came up with instead.

I used the cool new thin cellophane bags from Stampin' Up! and managed to get 9 jelly beans per bag. You can put any manner of items into these cellophane bags. A pencil works great especially if you don't want to give lollies. After stuffing 300 of them I decided that they needed a topper, so I used Tags Til Christmas, the 1" Square Punch and the Scallop Square Punch.

Here is a picture of the toppers. Do you know how long it takes to punch, snail and attach these toppers to 300 cellophane bags? A long time but it was worth it.

What is more I think the Panto was a success and the kids seemed to enjoy it.

Thanks for looking.

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 4

Hi everyone,

Well it seems I fell off the wagon yesterday and didn't get Day 4 posted. I was busy all day yesterday with Panto rehearsal and finishing off the K-2 gifts (300 of them), so please forgive me. I will post twice today to get back on track. I really must look into scheduling my posts in advance. It's not like I don't have the pictures already to go - however I generally don't have the time to sit and organise several posts at the one time.

Today I have pulled out an old favorite Snow Swirled. When I first joined Stampin' Up! I just had to have this set in my starter kit. Unfortunately it was a very popular set here in Australia and I had to wait about 4 weeks for it to come off back order. Sadly this set has been somewhat neglected but it is still one of my favorites.

The new ink pads make it very easy to have good clear, crisp images. Have I told you yet how much I love the new ink pads? I have teamed Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla for this card. I do love this combination. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs. I added a little "bling" and there you have it. Another easy card for mass production.

Thanks for looking,

Juliette

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 3

Hi everyone,

Yipee!!! I have made it to Day 3. Today I am going to show you a couple of cards that I made using Wondrous Wishes from our Holiday Catalogue. When I first saw the image of Santa surrounded by children I knew I just had to have it. The image is an old fashioned image but is just gorgeous. It lends itself perfectly to colouring - but alas my colouring is pretty rubbish so instead I decided to ink the image in just the one colour.

The first cards is a very basic one in Always Artichoke

Then I decided to give old Santa Claus his normal colour and inked him up in Cherry Cobbler. This second card involved a couple more steps but ultimately is a very basic card and one that can be massed produced. I know as I made a total of 20 of both of these cards in a short period of time.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 2

Hi everyone,

Bet you didn't think I would make day 2 did you? Well I did, and at least an hour earlier than yesterdays post.

Today I am going to show you some cards I made with the Ornament Keepsakes set from the Holiday catalogue.

I have chosen non traditional colours for this set of cards. I do like Marina Mist and Perfect Plum together. The sentiments are from Greetings of the Season also from the Holiday Mini. What do you think? Are you traditional colours when it comes to Christmas or do you like seeing other options?

Thanks for looking.

Countdown to Christmas 2012 - Day 1

Hi everyone,

Long time - no see, hear - you know what I mean. This last month has just been crazy busy and I can't see it letting up any time soon.

The last couple of years I have done a count down to Christmas which means I post every day until December 25. Let's hope I can manage it this year. Note I am only just getting in by 1/2 hr over this side of the world.

Over the next 25 days I am hoping to show you some projects, cards etc that may inspire you for this holiday season.

Today's project is a cheat as it is one that I have already posted - but it is appropriate as it is my Advent Calender. I had hoped to get a tutorial made for this but have run out of time and I won't get it done until next year.

I have a busy day tomorrow as the school my DD's go to is having its 40th Celebration day and I have been asked to have a stall. Note in my traditional way I have still not finished everything for my stall but I am knackered and need to go to bed. No doubt I will be awake in about 5 hours anyway so I can try and finish my projects off then.

Thanks for looking.

'Til next time,

Juliette
