Happy Australia Day

Hi everyone,

Happy Australia day to all of you Aussies out there. I made a quick card today inspired by Dawn Olchefske. You can't much more Aussie than a Kangaroo. I decided I would make mine a Grey one. No stamping involved in this card just lots of punches. Not too sure about the card base. It didn't turn out like I had thought it would - but I had to include Red and Blue (in this case Real Red and Night of Navy). I tried to include Whisper White as well but it didn't look at all right. Anyway enough rambling here it is.

Below are two cards I have made using the SAB set Happy Moments - I just love this set and know you will too.

Here I have used Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and So Saffron Cardstock. I have stamped the bouquet image with Black Stazon onto Whisper White and then using my blender pens I have coloured the flowers using Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery ink pads. Along the bottom I have stamped a row of the sentiment 'for you' in Pretty in Pink and highlighted one by stamping the same sentiment on Whisper White and then punching it out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and popped it up on Dimensionals.

These two cards are using Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Pink Pirouette cardstock. Once again the images have been stamped in Black Stazon onto Whisper White and then using my blender pen I have coloured in the images using So Saffron, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Brocade Blue and Only Orange (the last two are on the cake card only) ink pads. The sentiments have just been stamped directly onto the Whisper white. I have used my Mat Pack to just add a highlight to the corners on the mat cardstock.

Pop Up Card Technique Class

Hi everyone,

I must be on a roll. Another post from me. I thought I would share 2 of the cards that we will be making at my Pop Up Card Technique Class in February.

Here I have used Butterfly prints and For Everything - both sets are currently available in the Summer Mini.

This is the inside of the For Everything card.

Here is the inside of the Buttefly Prints card. I have to say I have wanted to make one of these cards ever since I saw Liams take on Patty Bennetts version.

The third item that you will make at my class is a surprise!!! but I think you will like it. Anyway if you would like to make these cards I am holding my Technique Class on Thursday 11th Feb (from 7.30pm) and Thursday 18th Feb (from 7.30pm). The cost of the class is $18.00 if you bring your own adhesive or $20.00 if you use mine. If you bring a friend I haven't met you will get your class for half price. Places are limited to 8. If you can't make it but would like to do this class then I can come to you. You just need to have at least six people for the class. Email me (juleskraftikrafts@gmail.com) or call me on 0407 371 551.

Valentines Day Class

Hi everyone,

I have a photo of the projects that we will be making at my Valentines Project Classes early next month.

You will get to make two cards and one box. Now I have to admit that the 'hot' babe is not my idea but comes from the very talented Ellen Kemper. Don't you think that Hubby (or boyfriend) might like to receive her rather than a generic mass produced store bought card?

If you think so please book into my class. I am running the class on Thursday 4th February (7.30pm start) and Tuesday 9th February (7.30pm start). Cost of the class is $18 if you bring your own adhesive or $20 if you use mine. Bring a friend I haven't met and get your class for half price. Places are limited to 8.  If you can't make it to either date but have at least six friends I can bring the class to you. Email me (juleskraftikrafts@gmail.com) or call 0407 371 558 to book your spot.

LNS Challenge #54

Hi everyone,

Finally some work to show. Been having fun playing with the girls (although I am getting quite used to the fact that DD5 is starting school in a few weeks - been having a few run ins with her, dread to think what it will be like when she is a teenager!!!)

So here is my submission for the LNS challenge. You really should check this group out - they have some fantastic ideas. Including ideas to help your business continue. If you are not a demonstrator then just looking at the card and project ideas that come through is awesome. This week it is an inspiration challenge and here is the photo we were given to work with.

Doesn't it look devine? I don't think I could cut it though!!!

I took the colours that I saw for my inspiration - so here it is.

I have used So Saffron for the card base and topped it with Regal Rose and Rose Red. I have used Butterfly Prints from the Summer Mini.

Stampin' Up! lending a hand

Hi everyone,

I am sure that we have all been affected (in some way) by the terrible earthquake that hit Haiti last week. For something of this magnitude to happen is terrible - but for it to affect such a poor country is completely disastrous. Stampin' Up! have a long standing need to help those in need, so they have decided that for every
I {Heart} Hearts (117715 - $42.95) Stamp set sold (until 28th February) they will donate $2.00 to Red Cross.

Please help those less fortunate that us and purchase this wonderful stamp set  - it is currently available in the Summer Mini catalogue. I currently don't own this stamp set but if you look at KM Designs you will see a wonderful Scrap page made with this stamp set. I know I will definitely be purchasing this set now!!!

One of a Kind (well make that two!!!)

Hi everyone,

It is one of my goals this year to ensure that every stamp set of mine sees ink. Instead of choosing the normal stamp sets in the starter kit I chose 'One of a Kind' and I am very sorry to say that I have not inked it until now. I do love the way that it co-ordinates with the Boho Blossoms punch and I have used that but not the stamp set. Anyway here are my offerings. They are basically the same card only done in different colours.

This card is has a base of Elegant Eggplant which has been stamped on using the large flower in Elegant Eggplant. The images have been stamped onto Whisper White and layered onto Almost Amethyst. The large flower has been stamped in Almost Amethyst and I have used my trusty dauber to add some colour to the large images. The smaller flowers have been stamped in Elegant Eggplant. To the centre of the large flowers I have added flowers stamped in Elegant Eggplant and punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch and popped them up with a dimensional. The ribbon is actually white taffeta that I have dyed Almost Amethyst - just for something different. The sentiment is also from One of a Kind and has been punched out with the Designer Label but I have cut off the semi-circles.

The next card is basically the same but is done in Real Red and Basic Black. I was aiming for something less 'pretty' but I don't know...

That's it for now.

Cards and Things Challenge

Hi everyone,

I made this card as an entry to the Cards and Things Challenge Blog.

This week it was a colour challenge :-

Now unfortunately I don't own Bashful Blue (I know I can't believe it myself!!) but I have chosen to use Baja Breeze instead. I have been wanting to ink up Petal Pizzazz for a while but have never got around to it. After looking through a magazine "Australian Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft" (Vol15 No7), I found a technique on Faux Tiling by my wonderful Up-line Marelle Taylor. No I haven't done the Faux Tiling but I have shamelessly CASEd one of her large flowers using Petal Pazzazz.

Here is the card

Rather basic - but that is the way I like them.

Materials Used: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, Think Happy Thoughts.
Card: Kraft, Whisper White
Ink: Baja Breeze, Pumpkin Pie
Other: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle, Pumpkin Rhinestone Brad.

"Love is in the Air"

Hi everyone,

I know Valentines is a while away but I have been playing around with some ideas for cards. The challenge this week at StampinUpLNStampers is to create Valentines Day cards. Now this group that I belong to are some of the most talented Ladies I think you will ever find. Click here if you would like to join, you don't even have to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator to join. If you are a Demonstrator then why not join the Demonstrator Only group.

Anyway onto my cards - I have created three in total.

My first one only uses one stamp so is very quick and easy to do.

Materials Used: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Short and Sweet
Card: Very Vanilla, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Kraft
Ink: Real Red
Other: Heart to Heart Punch, Eyelet Border Punch.

My next card features the "Fat Chef" from Voila (which is one of the stamp sets in our Clearance Sale).

Here I have put him inside circles created with Cicle Sissor Plus.

Materials Used: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Voila, Short and Sweet
Card: Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White.
Ink: Black Staz On, Blush Blossom (on his face and hands - it is there I promise!!), Real Red, Sahara Sand.
Other: Heart to Heart Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Circle Sissors Plus.

My last offering for the day is a card I don't know if I am happy with. I think the idea was there if not the execution but anyway here it is.

The word 'love' has been stamped using our Jumbo Outline Alphabet stamp onto Raspberry Tart DSP and then cut out. The word 'you' is from a stamp out of our Best Yet Level 1 hostess set. I have used a Stampin' Write marker to only 'colour' in the part of the stamp I wanted. The scallop edging around the Kiwi Kiss cardstock is Raspberry Tart DSP again that has been punched out using the Square Scallop punch and adhered to the back.

Materials Used: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Jumbo Outline Alphabet, Best Yet (Level 1 Hostess)
Card: Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: Black Staz On, Rose Red Stampin' Write
Other: Square Scallop Punch.

Another Sale-A-Bration Sneek Peek

Hi everyone,

I have another sneek peek for you from Sale-A-Bration. I can't help myself (I have all these other sets I could be playing with - but these are sooooo cute!!!). This time I have used Happy Moments and I have to say it is probably my favorite Sale-A-Bration set.

I stamped the "presents" in Black Staz On on Whisper White, and then using my blender pen and ink pads have coloured in the presents (must invest in some water colour paper and an aqua painter as well!!). A very simple and basic card - just right for a male card I think. Now I promise no more sneek peeks until Sale-A-Bration starts (OK well maybe one more as I have an idea going through my mind - but that will be it.)

Materials Used: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Happy Moments (Sale-A-Bration 2010)
Ink: Really Rust, Creamy Caramel, Brocade Blue, Black Staz On.
Card: Really Rust, Creamy Caramel, Brocade Blue, Whisper White.
Other: Word Window Punch

My version of a desk calendar

Hi everyone,

I have been spending a lot of time just bouncing around from blog to blog lately - I know the housework has been building up but hey who cares? On quite a few blogs I have been noticing some very nice desk calenders.

I thought I would give it a go and this is what I came up with.

I had a stack of the large post it note pads lying around so thought I would make a box big enough to put one or two of them in it. Unfortunately I didn't think about the need for a pen so there is no place to put one on the outside - but a normal size pen will fit in the drawer on top of the post it!!!

The next picture shows that the the back of the box has been made like an easel card.

Materiels Used: (all Stampin' Up! - other than where specified)
Stamps: Always, Best Yet (Hostess Level 1)
Card: Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss
Other: Clear Rhinestone Brad, Wide Oval Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Crop-A-Dile, Nestabilities Large Circle Die (must purchase Circle Sissors Plus!!!)

DH back at work - time for me!!! (as well as a sneek peak at Sale- A- Bration)

Hi everyone,

Now that DH is back at work not only do I have time to be creative, I now have access to the computer!!!

Whilst DH was on Christmas break he decided we needed a new TV, so the old one has gone upstairs. It means that my DD's can watch what they want. It is great because it means that I can stamp in my craft room and they are just outside the door.

Anyway onto what I have made over the last day or so - you too can make this if you attend my first class of the year which will be Wednesday 27th January 2010, or come on Thursday 28th January 2010 (all classes start at 7.30pm - cost is $20).

I made a tote bag (thanks to the very fabulous and talented Liam Pucher click the link to view her tutorial - although I have changed mine slightly!!).
Here is the outside view

Here is the inside.

The tote bag is designed to accommodate 4 cards and envelopes and here are the cards that you will be making aswell.

I have used Boho Backgrounds and the Sale-A-Bration set Vintage Labels (stay tuned for information how to earn Vintage Labels for free - yes I said for free).

Contact me via juleskraftikrafts@gmail.com if you would like to make it my class.

Materials Used: (all Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Boho Backgrounds, Vintage Labels (Sale A Bration set)
Card: - Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla

Always - for Valentines

Hi everyone,

When I joined Stampin' Up! I decided that I would change the stamp sets that you get in your start up kit - yes that is a really cool thing - you don't have to just choose the stamp sets that they suggest in the start up kit, as long as cost of the stamp set you choose does not exceed the price of the one you are replacing. Anyway I chose 'Always' and believe it or not have not used it until now.

DH and I don't celebrate Valentines day - we exchange cards and that is it (and normally it is some overly sentimental one that you pick up at the newsagent and wonder why you bothered!!). Anyway I thought I would have a go at making a Valetines day card using Always - and Stem Sayings (which is one of the stamp sets on special during our Clearance sale until the 24th January 2010). This is not a card that I would give to DH (it is a bit too pretty for him), but you could give it to a friend.

Materials Used: (all Stampin' Up)
Stamps: Always and Stem Sayings.
Ink: Pale Plum and Perfect Plum.
Card: Whisper White, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum.
Other: Dimensionals, Pale Plum Stampin' Write, Perfect Plum Stampin' Write.

Happy New Year

Hi everyone,

Well I hope everyone is now recovering from their New Year celebrations. As usual ours was rather quite. With two little girls there is not much opportunity to get out and about. We did however let them stay up to see the 9.00pm Fireworks on TV. Not quite the same as being there but the last time we tried it, the family friendly place we went to was quickly over taken by some rather intoxicated young adults.

Anyway I have another quick gift idea (I know Christmas is over but I forgot I had taken a photo of this project). The good thing about this project is it doesn't have to be for Christmas - any photo you have is good. Anyway the two cute girls in the photo are my beautiful girls - and this was their Christmas photo - thank god for digital SLR's is all I can say. I think we took over 50 photos in two sittings to get this one!!!

The photo is a standard 5"x7". I then matted it on Real Red and using Circle Circus I stamped on a full A4 piece of Whisper White - using Baja Breeze, Real Red and Chocolate Chip. We gave this to my DH, Nanna for Christmas.

I wish you all a very Happy and safe New Year.

'Til nex time
